136 children reported missing in Karachi this year: CPLC
The CPLC report claimed that 111 children were recovered out of the missing children. It said that the highest number of cases were reported in the district Central where 46 reports of kidnapping or missing children were filed.
There were 38 cases in South, 19 in West and four cases filed in East district, while 28 cases were filed in Malir and one case in Korangi area of the metropolis. Last year 199 cases of missing and kidnapped children were reported .
Police sources said that 25 cases are still under investigation and the missing children will be recovered soon.
This is likely to cause concern among the residents of the city. The reports of more than 700 children who have reportedly been missing in Punjab have already shocked the nation.
There are conflicting reports according to which some claiming that many children leave their homes voluntarily due to the treatment of their family members, while some are abducted by racketeers and forced into beggary or illegal organ trade.
