MIRANSHAH: Two drone strikes in North Waziristan tribal region killed 16 suspects after the silence of around six months, ARY News reported on Thursday.

Two US drones fired missiles at militant hideouts in strikes on Thursday in Miranshah and Ghulam Khan areas of the North Waziristan region.

At least 16 suspected militants were killed in two successive US drone strikes as pressure was building on government to react after the brazen attack on Karachi airport.

In the first attack a US drone fired six missiles that hit a vehicle and a compound in Dargah Mandi village around 10 kilometres distance of Miranshah, the chief town of the region.

Six suspected militants were killed in the attack in the area.

In early hours of Thursday, another drone fired eight missiles in Dande Darpakhel that killed at least ten suspects while four others wounded.
