Pakistan’s first ever animated feature film will grace theaters tomorrow all over Pakistan. After making its premiere in Karachi on 19th May and in Lahore the next day, the film has garnered critical appreciation and earned praise for Sharmeen.
The animated film tells the story of 3 children who are gifted with superpowers. Aamna, Saadi and Kamil are the three children, residents of Andher Basti. Making use of their superpowers, the three children fight crime, injustice and oppression led by an evil tyrant named Mangu.
Sharmeen had earlier stated that though the film was an animated one and mainly targeted children, it would also resonate with parents and their way of thinking. She had also stated that there were amazing songs in the film that would thoroughly entertain viewers.
Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy has previously won an Oscar for Pakistan, for her documentary Saving Face.
