35 suspects nabbed for attacking Taseer's candle light vigil

LAHORE: At least 35 suspects have been arrested for attacking the candle light vigil on the death anniversary of former Punjab Governor Salman Taseer, ARY News reports on Monday.

Unknown persons had attacked the candle light vigil organized by Civil Society for Salman Taseer on Sunday.

According to SSP Investigation Ayaz Saleem, the prime suspect has been identified as Mumtaz Sindhi who is an activist of a religious party.

He also said that several teams have been formed to arrest all the suspects.

Former Law Minister of Punjab Rana Sanaullah has said that the case of the incident has been filed at Gulberg Police Station under Section 7 of Anti Terrorism Law. He added that 35 suspects have been nabbed as of yet.

Sanaullah also said that the accused are being identified through video footages of the incident and will not be spared at any cost.
