The bus was travelling near from Karachi to Panjgur when the incident took place near the town of Naag in Kharan district, Balochistan.

Rescue teams immediately rushed the spot and helped shifting the injured and the bodies to nearby hospital.

The country has witnessed many deadly road accidents in recent years. In January 2014, a truck slammed into a bus bringing schoolchildren home from an outing in Sindh, killing at least 17 pupils and three adults.

“It was a head-on collision when the truck slammed into the school van on a single track dirt road. Apparently, speeding and recklessness resulted in the accident,” police had said.

Pakistan has one of the world’s worst records for fatal traffic accidents, blamed on poor roads, badly maintained vehicles and reckless driving. According to police records, more than 60,000 people died in road accidents over the last 11 years.
