Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Afghan President Ashraf Ghani holding talks over bilateral relations, regional situation and other matters of mutual interest.
Afghan President Ghani has been on two-day trip to Islamabad has pledged stronger defence and security ties with Pakistan.
Afghan President earlier this morning held meetings with various political leaders including Awami National Party’s Asfandyar Wali, Qaumi Watan Party’s Aftab Sherpao, PMAP leader Mehmood Khan Achakzai and PPP leaders Aitzaz Ahsan, Sherry Rehman, Farhatullah Babar and Faisal Karim Kundi.
President Ghani, who arrived in Islamabad on Friday morning on his first day of visit met his Pakistani counterpart Mamnoon Hussain.
He also visited General Headquarters in Rawalpindi along with his delegation, including Defence Minister General Bismillah Muhammadi, Afghan Chief of General Staff General Sher Mohammad Karimi and other senior Afghan security officials.
