BPL: Afridi pulls off thrilling win with two sixes in final over

DHAKA: Pakistan all-rounder Shahid Afridi is continuing the spasm of his sensational performance in the Bangladesh Premier League.

Afridi, who stars in the Sylhet Super Star, pulled off a remarkable win for his team in the last over against Dhaka Dynamites, captained by Kumara Sangakara.

The Dynamites had set a target of 158-run target and that was successfully chased by the Sylhet’s following Afridi cameo.

Farhad Reza was bowling the final over with Afridi and Sohail Tanveer on the wicket. Extracting a single on the first ball, Afridi gave strike to Tanvir but that didn’t turn out good for the Sylhet and the left-hander lost his wicket.

Came next Mushfiquur Rahim who intelligently brought Afridi to a strike by taking a single.

It was then 8 runs needed of three balls. Afridi swang it over the fine leg fence on the third last ball for six, thus reviving hopes of his team.

On the very next delivery, Lala once again got it over the backward square leg fence on a poor full toss delivery, taking his team home with a ball to spare. He scored 15 off 7 balls with two sixes. His team was captained by Mushfiqur Rahim.
