Afridi and Co. may get easily away with PCB notices

As World Cup 2015 hype among the fans gains weight, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) may avoid creating a controversy at this moment and let the five players, which includes Shahid Afridi, who were sent show cause notices for commercial activities, with only a warning.

“The players have responded to the notices sent by the board to them for appearing in commercial activities without board’s prior approval. They have explained their position on the issue. However, the board may not take some concrete disciplinary action since the World Cup is on our head,” sources in PCB told ARYNEWS.tv.

The five players recently appeared in an advertisement during the against Australia and New Zealand in UAE last month.

By featuring in an advertisement without board’s permission, the five players, namely Shahid Afridi, Fawad Alam, Anwar Ali, Mohammad Irfan and Wahab Riaz have violated terms of their central contract.
