ISLAMABAD: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Senator Aitzaz Ahsan on Thursday held Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif responsible for the postponement of SAARC summit in Pakistan.

Aitzaz Ahsan, speaking on the second day of the Parliament’s joint sitting, said that the prime minister is responsible for postponement of this year’s South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) summit in Islamabad.

He also stated that the prime minister did not utter a single word against Kulbhushan Yadav, the Indian spy arrested from Balochistan, during his speeches.

Ahsan said Pakistan and India have gone to war thrice but the Indus Water Treaty has not been violated once.

The PPP Senator also lashed out at the federal government over not having a foreign minister since it came into power.

He said Pakistan and India will not engage into a formal conflict as the both countries are nuclear powers.

The final day of the two-day joint session of the parliament saw a disinterest on the part of the government with most of the ministers and members found absent from the session.
