The spinner’s action was reported during the test match in Galle against Sri Lanka last month.
Ajmal had to undergo a bowling action test in Australia which he failed. He will not be allowed to bowl in international cricket till his action corrected and meet the rules and regulations prescribed by the governing body of the sport.
He will miss the upcoming series against Australia in United Arab Emirates and can also miss the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 in Australia and New Zealand.
The bowler can appeal against his ban within 15 days.
