Akshay Kumar’s ‘Airlift’ becomes first movie of 2016 to gross Rs 100 crore

2016 looks to be promising for the Khiladi of Bollywood, Mr. Akshay Kumar. The superstar’s latest flick released in January titled ‘Airlift’ has caused a sensation in India, grossing more than Rs 100 crore at the box office. In it’s second week at the box office, Airlift continues to amass huge amounts as trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted news pertaining to the movie from his official Twitter account:-

Akshay Kumar has established himself as a leading actor in the Indian film industry and some Bollywood experts are now comparing the superstar to the three Khans of the Indian film industry. His last couple of films have registered strong performances and fared very well at the box office, such as Gabbar Is Back.

Airlift is about Indians stuck in Kuwait back in 1990 during the Iraq invasion. A few other characters beside Akshay Kumar’s Ranjit Katiyal feature in the movie.
