All set for first LG polls in Islamabad tomorrow

ISLAMABAD: The arrangements for the first ever local government elections in Islamabad will be held tomorrow (Monday).

The polling will begin at 7.30 am and continue till 5.30 pm without any interruption.

According to Election Commission of Pakistan, over 6,076 registered voters will use their right of franchise.

While Over 2,400 candidates are vying for the seats of chairman, vice chairman and councillors.

The ECP said green ballot paper would be used for the seat of chairman and vice chairman while white for general seats.

Meanwhile, elaborate arrangements have been made to ensure security and maintenance of law and order during local government elections in Islamabad Capital Territory.

As many as 6,025 Army troops and 700 personnel of Rangers besides police would be deployed in the capital for the purpose. In addition, 1000 personnel of FC would also help maintain law and order in Islamabad during polling.
