ICC CEO David Richardson, speaking on Monday, said that  India has assured complete security to the organization for the World T20 tournament.

“All matches will be played according to decided schedule”, Richardson said.

Meanwhile, Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Secretary Anurag Thakur has said that fool-proof security will be provided to the Pakistani team for the tournament.

“The board is waiting for the report of the security team”, Thakur said.

Pakistan’s two-member security team reached India on Monday to review the security situation in Dharamshala ahead of the arrival of Pakistan cricket team for the ICC T20 World Cup. The officials will assess whether the security situation is suitable for the visit by the cricket team, amid threats from Indian extremist and militant organizations.

It should be noted that the fate of high voltage Pak-India World T20 became uncertain after Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh Virbadra Singh refused to host the Pakistan team for the tournament. He has told BCCI to either cancel or shift the match to a different venue.

Shiv Sena extremists have threatened to dug out the match pitch while Aam Aadmi Party has said that they will not allow the match to be staged in India.
