Altaf condemns Sabeen Mahmud’s murder

During a late night address to party workers in Jinnah Ground, Hussain said that the late Sabeen Mahmud used to raise voice, arrange debates on social and political issues through her NGO (Non-Governmental Organization) The Second Floor.

“Even today, she was returning from a seminar when the armed assailants shot her dead”, said Altaf.

Hussain called for immediate arrest of the murderers and termed the incident an act of ‘terrorism’.

MQM supremo also prayed for the quick recovery of Sabeen Mahmud’s mother who got injured in the gun attack.

CM Sindh directs Police Chief to arrest the murderers

Taking notice of the incident, Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah directed Karachi Police Chief Ghulam Qadir Thebo to immediately arrest the culprits of the attack.

A committee has been formed under the supervision of DIG South Dr. Jamil to investigate the cause of killing and arrest the murderers.

Sabeen Mahmud , the director of a NGO, The Second Floor (T2F), was shot dead by unknown assailants in Karachi’s Defence area on Friday night.

According to SSP South, Ms Mahmud had been receiving death threats. Police said she was returning from a seminar when assailants attacked her.

Sabeen died on her way to the hospital while her mother who was severely injured in the incident is currently being treated at a hospital.

Sabeen’s mother is said to be in critical condition.
