Altaf Hussain asks party workers to relieve him of responsibilities

KARACHI: Chief of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Altaf Hussain said on Thursday that he can’t bear the burden of party responsibilities anymore, but the party workers chanted slogans in favour of party chief asking not to step down from party leadership, ARY News reported.

Addressing to General Workers meeting via telephonic call  in Karachi tonight, Altaf Hussain said he is being punished for the misdeeds which he never committed. He said his teachings were mocked.

“One person should be nominated from MQM Rabitta Committee to take over charge as party chief”, he added.

After listening to Altaf Hussain’s statement, party workers present in the meeting vowed to obey all his instructions and stressed to review his decision.

“I faced many difficulties in Pakistan just for the sake of the nation and was deported from the country, although I don’t have any conflict with anyone”, said MQM Chief.

Altaf Hussain asked Army and government to grant permission for visiting Pakistan for 15 days adding “I will eliminate land mafia from Karachi within fifteen days of my visit”. He further said if allowed to visit for six months, he will bring the much needed change in the country.

The party workers hailed Altaf Hussain announcement to come back and vowed to protect him.

The party chief said he is aware about the corruption that has been practiced by the office bearers.

“Office bearers are taking commission for the employment and also taking money from fund of Khidmat-e-Khalq Foundation (KKF) – MQM’s Welfare Organization”, he said.

Altaf Hussain said there are some black sheep in the party and warned for strict action against all those involved in the wrongdoings. He announced to discontinue Karachi Tanzeemi Committee by September 11.
