Altaf Hussain did not criticize the military, says MQM

TOP NEWS

MQM Rabita Committee, responding to the tweets by Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Asim Bajwa, said that Altaf Hussain did not criticize the military but instead has lauded Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif.

Earlier, MQM chief Altaf Hussain in his late night television speech against SSP Rao Anwar’s allegations asked Pakistan Army about criminals within their ranks and inquired as to why they surrendered against India in 1971 war.

Asim Bajwa had condemned the MQM chief Altaf Hussain’s Friday speech by calling it ‘disgusting’ and ‘uncalled for’. He termed the remarks of Altaf Hussain as ‘irresponsible’ and an attempt to use media to incite people against the state adding that the institution will take the matter to the courts.

The ISPR spokesman had also said that army will not tolerate such remarks against the institution and its leadership on the arrest of criminals affiliated with some political party.

MQM Rabita Committee has also stated that Altaf has called for action against the elements looting the country. He added that Altaf Hussain has requested the army chief to provide justice to them.

“Altaf Hussain has not only lauded but has supported Pakistan Army and COAS Raheel Sharif in his public speeches. He has saluted the martyrs of the military in a million march as well”, MQM said.

“The party chief has announced that millions of his party workers will stand side by side with the army if the need arises. This can be a reason for boosting the moral of the military within the nation but can never be a reason for spreading hatred”, MQM said.

MQM added that anyone’s emotions can be tested if a police officer blames the party of committing treason and treachery at such a time when Pakistan Army is carrying out a military offensive in North Waziristan.
