Altaf Hussain offers help to PTI for rally

KARACHI: Chief of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Altaf Hussain has offered assistance to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) for holding rally at Karachi’s Jinnah Ground, ARY News reported.

In a statement, Altaf Hussain assured PTI that MQM will extend whatever cooperation PTI needed to hold a rally in Jinnah Ground.

Requesting PTI to preserve sanctity of Martyrs’ monuments, Altaf Hussain said MQM should be given time to make proper arrangement for protection of the monument.

MQM Chief said he was extremely upset on the tragic incident took place between the residents of the constituency of NA 246 and the leaders and workers of PTI.

“I did not want to blame anyone for the incident. I want free and fair elections to be held in peace”, added Altaf Hussain.

Altaf Hussain has requested Chief Minister, Qaim Ali Shah and Governor of Sindh, Dr Ishrat-ul-Ebad Khan to hold an emergency meeting of both parties and formulate a code of conduct for the by-election.

He suggested that a committee comprising of three empowered members of the Election Commission should be constituted that report any violation of the code of conduct to the authorities.
