Altaf slams CNIC rule for Karachiites

KARACHI: MQM chief Altaf Hussain had called for immediate holding local government elections in Sindh, ARY News reported Tuesday.

Addressing MQM workers here, Mr. Hussain said Karachi citizens were being subjected to third-rate treatment.

He asked why only Karachiites were told to carry original CNICs during their movement in the city.

He demanded the government to launch mass transit system for Karachi. He stressed that metro bus service was also a requirement of Karachi, hence it should be launched here.

The MQM chief demanded restoration of local government system of 2001.

Earlier on Monday, Rangers spokesperson instructed residents of Karachi to keep their original CNICs with them, otherwise they will be arrested.
