Altaf, Zardari discuss Senate polls, party ties on phone

KARACHI: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari and Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain talked on telephone and discussed senate elections along with improving party ties, ARY News reported on Monday.

According to details, the two leaders congratulated each other on unopposed victory of party candidates in senate elections and agreed to work together for development in Sindh.

Both Asif Ali Zardari and Altaf Hussain aimed not to repeat past mistakes and take practical steps to promote reconciliation in the province.

Both MQM chief and PPP co-chairman directed their respective party leaders to jointly work for peace and development in Sindh.

Zardari appreciated the MQM move to withdraw nomination papers of female party members in favour of PPP candidate for senate elections in Islamabad and thanked Altaf Hussain for the favour.

Earlier, PPP co-chairman also contacted Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan and said that his party has always rendered sacrifices for democracy and it is determined to do more for democratic stability.
