Alvi slams tapping of politicians' phone calls

KARACHI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Arif Alvi has slammed tapping of his phone call with Imran Khan and called it an underhand ‘practice’ which is inappropriate, ARY News reported.

In a statement, Alvi said telephone calls of politicians should not be tapped.

If any institution is playing this ‘game’, then many truths will also unfold, he added.

He stated that there was nothing in the call that may bring him embarrassment. The PTI leader insisted that Imran Khan had never expressed contentment for attack on PTV office in Islamabad.

He said Imran had immediately condemned the attack on PTV right after it was reported.

According to the telephonic conversation, Alvi informed Khan about the attack on PTV headquarters.

Imran said that the attack is good as it will pressurize Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to resign as prime minister of the country.

The PTI Chairman instructed Alvi to contact other parties so it will put more pressure on the federal government.
