KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Farooq Sattar on Wednesday said that his party will not accept disgruntled leader Dr Amir Liaquat’s resignation, ARY News reported.

Speaking during ARY News show “Off the Record”, Farooq Sattar claimed that Amir Liaquat will rejoin the party and his resignation will not be accepted.

Yesterday, in the same show, MQM leader Amir Liaquat announced his resignation from the party after what he described as “failure to defend anti-Pakistan statements”.

Amir Liaquat maintained that he is tired of defending such statements (issued by MQM chief Altaf Husssain).

When contacted by host Kashif Abbasi, Amir Liaquat categorically denied Farooq Sattar’s assertion that he will ever rejoin MQM.

“I have distanced myself from MQM and politics. I am not among those who change their stance with time,” said Amir Liaquat.
