ANF captures drugs, recover 13 foreign hostages from smuggling den in Malir

KARACHI: Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) seized 21 kilograms of drugs and rescued 13 foreign nationals who were being kept as hostages at a safe house, ARY News reports on Monday.

According to a spokesperson of ANF, the force on a tip-off carried out a raid in Dur Mohammad Goth in Malir and recovered one kilogramme of heroin and 20 kilogrammes of hashish.

The officials said that a notorious smuggler from Balochistan, Saleem Baloch, was used to keep foreign smugglers as a guarantee with them till payment of the drug consignment.

They said that on an intelligence report that the smuggler has kept several foreign nationals at a safe house in Dur Mohammad Goth of Malir, the ANF personnel conducted raid at the house and recovered 13 foreign nationals including eight nationals of Tanzania and five from Nigeria.

The main accused Saleem Baloch has been on run and the force conducting raids for his arrest and the government of Balochistan has also been informed about him, officials said.

ANF officials said that the recovered men being question and if found involved in smuggling they will be booked in a case at Anti-human trafficking cell.
