Angry citizens burn electricity bills in Multan

MULTAN: Enraged citizens on Monday burnt their electricity bills in Multan in protest against prolonged power outages and inflated electricity bills, ARY News reported.

With people taking to streets against extended hours of load-shedding, it seemed that civil disobedience call by PTI chief Imran Khan has begun to draw public response.

A large number of people, carrying their power bills, gathered on a street during broad daylight amid chanting slogans ‘Go Nawaz Go’. They burnt their electricity bills in a protest, saying they had been receiving inflated bills without even being supplied the electricity.

The enraged mob questioned why they should pay their bills when there was no electricity in their homes.
