ANP ends sit-in after Sindh govt assurance

KARACHI: Awami National Party (ANP) on Monday ended the sit-in they staged outside Sindh Chief Minister House to protest the killing of their district president, ARY News reported.

The  party ended the sit-in after getting a guarantee from government officials that the killers of ANP district West President Dr. Ziauddin will be arrested within two days.

The government delegation that negotiated with the ANP protesters included Rashid Rabbani, Waqar Mehdi and DIG West Tahir Naveed which assured them of arresting the culprits within two days, providing security to ANP official. A high level ANP delegation will also meet CM Sindh.

On the other hand, ANP has stated that if the government fails to arrest the murderers in two days time, the party will announce their future strategy.

ANP president for district West in Karachi was shot dead in an act of target killing in Orangi Town on Sunday evening.
