KARACHI: Sindh Information Minister, Sharjeel Memon Monday said that an anti-encroachment drive is continued in Sindh in full swing and the recovery of all the public lands has begun, ARY News reported.

Responding to a call attention notice of MQM member Waqar Shah in the Sindh Assembly, Sharjeel Memon said that 60 percent of illegal constructions have been demolished in district Malir and the deputy commissioner Malir is up to flatten remaining such buildings.

He said that encroachments are being torn down all over the province under the ‘Clean, Green and Peaceful Sindh’ campaign.

Memon said that public lands are being cleared of illegal possession in Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Larkana and other cities, and soon the people will witness its positive results.

“More than 50 marriage halls were razed in Karachi, while dozens were sealed,” said the minister. “These halls were situated on public lands, playgrounds, parks and plots allocated for relief and welfare organizations.”
