Apex Committee reviews situation after Karachi bus attack

KARACHI: A meeting of Sindh Apex Committee at Karachi Corps Headquarters on Thursday decided to set up check posts at roads in major cities of Sindh, ARY News reported.

The provincial apex committee meeting was held to review the situation after Safoora Chowk attack in Karachi on Wednesday.

The meeting was attended by Army Chief General Raheel Sharif, Director General ISI Lt. Gen. Rizwan Akhtar, Governor Ishratul Ebad, Chief Minister of Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah and Director General Rangers Sindh.

Terrorists in an attack on a bus of Ismaili community in the city yesterday killed 47 people and injured scores of others.

In the meeting an effective implementation of the National Action Plan was stressed.

The meeting also emphasized for working harmony and coordination among Rangers and other law enforcement agencies.

The meeting also highlighted the need of law enforcement operations without caring about political affiliations of the criminals.
