Army capable of responding to any aggression: COAS

PESHAWAR: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif on Tuesday said Pakistan Army was ready to effectively respond to any internal or external aggression, ARY News reported.

Army has the capability to respond to any kind of aggression, he said while speaking at a ceremony of laying foundation stone of National Counter Terrorism Centre in Kharian.

The Army Chief said with its unique accomplishment of confronting both conventional and sub-conventional threat, Pakistan Army is respected for its achievements and sacrifices the world over.

He said sacrifices of army soldiers in Zarb-e-Azb were commendable and matchless.  Gen Sharif said army was conducting operations across the country to root out terrorism.

He said NCTC will be a state of the art facility with large capacity to impart quality training to troops for combating terrorism, in all kinds of terrain.

He also reviewed the anti-terrorism exercise at the anti-terrorism centre.
