Army Chief discusses Indian spy issue with Iran President

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Army Chief Gen. Raheel Sharif called on visiting Iranian President Hassan Rouhani and raised the issue of the involvement of Indian spy agency RAW in the internal affairs of Pakistan, ARY News reported on Saturday.

It is pertinent to mention here that the Indian national arrested from Balochistan had an Iranian visa on his passport. Kulbhushan Yadav alias Hussain Mubarak Patel was posted in Iran’s port city of Chahbahar.

ISPR in a tweet said that Gen. Raheel Sharif in his meeting with President Rouhani discussed involvement of RAW in Pakistan’s internal affairs specially in Balochistan.

India had admitted on Friday that Kulbhushan Yadav, a RAW agent arrested from Balochistan yesterday, was an officer in its navy.

President Rouhani lauded the professional capabilities of Pakistan’s Army and success of the anti-terrorism operation in Pakistan.

General Raheel also discussed the matters of regional security, border security and other issues of mutual interest with the Iranian President.
