General Raheel Sharif held an important meeting with American Vice President Joe Biden and both agreed to further promote bilateral relations between the two states. Raheel Sharif stated that facilitators of terrorists would not be spared.
The army chief’s tour of the United States continued with important meetings, as he held an important sitting with Joe Biden in which issues such as bilateral relations and peace in Afghanistan were discussed. Joe Biden acknowledged Pakistan’s efforts in counter-terrorism and expressed the desire for a stronger partnership.
Speaking at a dinner hosted by the Pakistani embassy in Washington, General Raheel said that they were pursuing the facilitators of terrorists. He stated that these facilitators would be caught and that peace will be restored on the Pakistan-Afghanistan border area. He also said that Operation Zarb-e-Azb should have been launched earlier and that the operation was also being carried out in cities and not tribal areas alone.
Speaking on India, Raheel said that they wanted relations with India based on equality however Narendra Modi had other intentions as far as peace was concerned. He stressed that the Economic Corridor was important for Pakistan’s development. General Raheel also said that the nation had high expectations of the army, which would be met.
