Army chief had Iftar with displaced tribesmen

NORTH WAZIRISTAN: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif on Monday spent his evening with Temporary Displaced Persons (TDPs) in Bannu and had Iftar with them, ARY News reported.

He exchanged views with them on various aspects of return, resettlement process and development work.

Earlier, the Army chief also visited North Waziristan Agency (NWA). His visit was mainly focused on TDPs and their dignified return to their respective areas.

The COAS was briefed by the corps commander and formation commander in detail, about post operation security environment, progress of TDPs’ return and their resettlement and reconstruction work.

Raheel Sharif reiterated his emphasis on ensuring quality of life through a comprehensive rehabilitation plan.

On arrival at NWA, the Army chief was received by Lt Gen Hidayat ur Rehman, Corps Commander Peshawar.
