Army Chief meets Egyptian President Al-Sisi

CAIRO: Army Chief General Raheel Sharif has met Egyptian President Abdul Fatah Al-Sisi on the second day of an official tour of the country, ARY News reported. 

This was confirmed by Director-General ISPR Lt. General Asim Bajwa who said that they discussed the regional security and the prevalent and emerging security challenges. The Egyptian President acknowledged the successes of the Pakistan Army in fighting terrorism and for regional stability.

Army Chief General Raheel Sharif emphasised for the need the world and particularly the Muslim Ummah to fight the scourge and menace of terrorism.

Later, the Army Chief met with Grand Imam of Al-Azhar University, who appreciated the efforts of the Pakistan towards the elimination of terrorism. The Army Chief emphasised on the need to harness the potential of the Muslim youth towards enlightenment and technological advancement and for the need for moderation,  harmony and peace.

The Army Chief also visited Egyptian special forces in training and witnessed activities and exercises where he strongly appreciated their skills and capabilities.
