Army chief says climate of fear associated with terrorists being eliminated

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Army Chief General Raheel Sharif said here on Monday that the climate of fear that had been created in the country by the actions of terrorists was being cleared away.

General Sharif told a conference of the College of Physicians and Surgeons that with the cooperation of the entire nation peace and security were returning to Pakistan.

The army chief paid rich tributes to the sacrifices of soldiers as well as those by ordinary civilians in the fight against terrorism. He said the operation against terrorists would continue to its logical end.

General Sharif said that extra investment would have to be made in education so that the country could benefit from a large pool of trained and skilled workers.
