Army not supporting any faction in current crisis: DG ISPR

ISLAMABAD: The Army was not involved in politics nor was it supporting any faction during the current crisis, Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Major General Asim Bajwa said in an interview to a foreign media outlet.

This was a political problem and it should be resolved through the political process, DG ISPR said.

The Army has not supported any faction in the past nor will it do so in future, he said.

He said that due to Operation Zarb-i-Azb, the capacity of Taliban to carry out terrorist attacks has been neutralised, he said.

The terrorists have been scattered they are only able to carry out random attacks, he said.

The second-level leadership of the banned TTP have been either killed or arrested during the operation, he said.
