Army troops help flood victims in Gujranwala

GUJRANWALA: The Army troops in assistance to civil administration participating in flood relief operations in Gujranwala division, ARY News reported on Monday.

According to sources, the army rescue teams transferred 11283 stranded people through boats and 771 with helicopters to safer places.

Four helicopters and over 300 boats are being used in the ongoing flood relief operations  for the fourth day in Gujranwala division.

More troops are being deployed in flood-hit areas to move the stranded people to safe areas.

Director General Rangers Punjab Maj. General Tahir Javed during his visit of flood ravaged areas of Sialkot distributed edible items and medicines among the flood-hit people.

Pakistan Army has also established flood relief camps near the border with India.
