Muazzam names ‘big fish’ in Imran Farooq murder case

KARACHI: An alleged MQM activist Muazzam Ali, who has been arrested by the paramilitary force in Karachi on charges of his suspected involvement in Imran Farooq murder, has begun naming names.

Sources confided to ARY News that Ali named MQM’s former Tanzeemi committee in-charge of Karachi Hammad Siddiqui who reportedly briefed the hit-men about plan to murder Imran Farooq.

Ali alleged that he used to comply with the orders of Hammad Siddiqui, which mostly pertained to target killing and extortion collection.

Ali said he arranged visas of two culprits – Kashif and Mohsin – who were tasked with murdering Farooq in London.

“Hammad Siddiqui had provided both the culprits with financial assistance and asked them to complete their mission,” he disclosed.

Sources told that investigation authorities have recovered important documents from Muazzam Ali and a complete probe report has been prepared in this regard. The report is currently kept by DG Rangers Sindh, they added.

MQM disowns Ali

Meanwhile, Mutahidda Qaumi Movement (MQM) has rejected any association with Muazzam Ali.

The party spokesperson said MQM will consult its legal team over statement of Interior Minister Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan regarding Muazzam.
