ISLAMABAD: The government will initiate the process of proceedings against former military ruler Pervez Musharraf on Monday with filing a petition in the Supreme Court, ARY News reports.
Federal government in its plea in the apex court will seek constitution of a trial court to initiate proceedings against Gen. Pervez Musharaf under Article-6 of the constitution for treason.
Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali in a media talk on Sunday announced the government’s decision to initiate treason proceedings against Musharraf for violating constitution.
A three-member bench of the Supreme Court would hear the case against Musharraf, the interior minister said.
