GWADAR: Pakistan’s top news channel, ARY News, was barred from covering inauguration of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor projects in Gwadar by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s security staff today.

The prime minister arrived in Gwadar to inaugurate CPEC projects, but the administration stopped ARY News reporter Allah Baksh from covering the event. The security staff reasoned they had not received permission to allow ARY correspondent at the event.

The channel also had the invitation letter for coverage of the event, but it was denied permission at the eleventh hour.

Sticking to principle of objectivity and social responsibility, the ARY News still managed to glean updates of the CPEC event in view of the project’s utmost national importance.
