The Foreign Office (FO) of Pakistan said in a statement that the respective ministers of these states acknowledged the huge sacrifices made by Pakistan in the fight against terrorism.
“They appreciated Pakistan’s resolve against terrorism and noted the success achieved in recent counter-terrorism operations,” read the statement. “The foreign ministers also expressed support to Pakistan’s efforts for economic revival and stressed the need to further strengthen cooperation for improving the opportunities for trade and investment in the country.”
They also emphasized Pakistan`s role in bringing peace to Afghanistan and promoting meaningful dialogue between Taliban and Afghan Government, and expressed sympathies for the victims of earthquake that struck Pakistan last month, it added.
The views were expressed in bilateral meetings held by Sartaj Aziz on the sidelines of ASEMFM12, held in Luxembourg on Nov 5-6, 2015.
In his interaction with foreign leaders, Aziz reviewed bilateral relations and shared views with them on regional and international situation with particular focus on Afghanistan, Pakistan-India relations and the situation in the Middle East.
