ASWJ announces sit-in at Governor House in Karachi

KARACHI: Ahl-e-Sunnat Wal Jamaat (ASWJ) has announced to stage sit-in at Governor House in Karachi against the alleged extra-judicial killing and arrest of their workers, ARY News reports.

ASWJ leader Allama Aurangzaib Farooqi, while addressing the party’s sit-in at Karachi’s Gurumandir area on Tuesday, said that the sit-in earlier was called off after the authorities had assure their workers’ release.

“Sindh Government broke their promises now the sit-ins will continue till our demands are met”, Farooqi said.

The party has demanded the authorities to stop the extra-judicial killing and illegal arrest of their workers.

He further said that Karachi has been turned into a slaughter house. He announced to stage a sit-in in front of Governor House and warned that all the main roads in the city will be blocked if they will be stopped from holding the protest.

The protest has resulted in closure of main roads leading to CM House and Governor House. The traffic system in many parts of the city has also paralysed.
