ASWJ official among two killed in firing incidents

KARACHI: At least two persons were killed including a local official of Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamat (ASWJ) and another was injured in two different firing incidents in the metropolis on Tuesday, ARY News reported.

According to details, an official of ASWJ, named Masood was shot dead in North Nazimabad. He had arrived at the slaughterhouse that unknown assailants riding motorbikes fired several rounds and vanished from the scene. Masood as a consequence was killed on the spot.

In another incident, unidentified armed men opened indiscriminate fire at two people in Qasba Colony near Kati Pahari area. As a result, one man named Maulana Sajid was killed, while the other was injured who was immediately shifted to a hospital.

Police sources told that the slain Maulana Sajid was affiliated with a religious party.

Here it is mandatory to note that the law enforcement agencies had claimed to make special security arrangements on account of Eid ul Adha, however this too could not prevent target-killings in the city, like the Karachi Operation.
