Three including FC man killed in Peshawar blast

PESHAWAR: At least three persons, including a Frontier Constabulary (FC) personnel and a woman, were killed and 12 others were wounded in an explosion at Sher Shah Suri road in Peshawar on Tuesday (today), ARY News reports.

Law Enforcing Agencies (LEAs) and rescue teams arrived at the crime scene. Security teams sealed  the area whereas the rescue teams rushed the wounded to Lady Reading Hospital for treatment.

The blast took place in an area housing Peshawar Press Club, Cantt Station and FC Headquarters.

According to initial reports, Brigadier Khalid Javed’s convoy was targeted in the blast but he remained unscathed. He was leading the convoy when the explosion took place.

Bomb Disposal Squad said that the explosives weighed 45 kilograms and were planted in a white vehicle coming from the opposite direction.

Windows of nearby buildings were shattered whereas several motorcycles and a rickshaw were also destroyed in the explosion.

The reporting team of ARY News was also attacked by unknown persons after the blast as well.

Investigation of the incident has been underway.
