ATC approves bail of three MQM women workers

KARACHI: An Anti Terrorism Court (ATC) of Karachi has approved bail of three women workers of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), who were arrested over creating violence on August 22, in exchange of Rs2 lac bond apiece, ARY News reported.

On the other hand, a local court has also approved plea of providing B-class jails to under arrest MQM leaders, Kanwar Naveed, Qamar Mansoor and Shahid Pasha.

Mayor Karachi Waseem Akhtar has filed a petition for bail in four cases related to May 12 incident, a hearing in this regard will be held in an ATC on Monday.

A prosecutor presented CCTV camera footages in the court and told that identification parade of the women was not conducted. They were involved in chanting slogans against sovereignty of Pakistan, he said.

The women are also accused of attacking media houses in the city after a tirade made by their London-based leader.
