The judge of the Anti-Terrorism Court-VI, Javed Ahmed Keerio, has asked the home secretary of Sindh through a letter for nomination of a prosecutor.
An investigating officer had informed the court a day earlier that the home department had yet to appoint a new prosecutor in the case after disassociation of the two public prosecutors from the case last month due to security and financial issues.
The judge asked the home secretary to appoint a public prosecutor to plead Safoora carnage case against the suspects on behalf of the state.
The hearing of the case is fixed for Nov 22 for submission of an investigation report.
Three accused Tahir Hussain Minhas, alias Sain, the alleged mastermind of the bus attack, Saad Aziz, a business graduate who allegedly filmed the brutal attack, and Asad-ur-Rehman, alias Malik, who allegedly gave the backup to the attackers, have already been chargesheeted for their direct involvement in the case while Hafiz Nasir, alias Yasir and Mohammad Azhar Ishrat, alias Majid, have been named for allegedly providing accommodation, financial assistance and reconnaissance to the key accused of the case.
