ATC remands suspects involved in high-profile cases in Karachi

KARACHI: Police on Monday produced several suspects before the anti-terrorism court (ATC) involved in Safoora bus tragedy, Professor Waheed ur Rahman’s murder, while a worker of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Umair Siddiqui was also presented before the court, ARY News reported.

Police presented the suspects Saad Aziz, Asad ur Rahman and Tahir Hussain involved in the grisly Safoora bus attack before the ATC on Monday morning. The court extended their remand till June 28.

The ATC remanded another suspect Sami uz Zaman, under custody in Professor Waheed ur Rahman murder case, till June 23.

Meanwhile, police also produced an MQM worker Umair Siddiqui before the court with stern security measures in place.

The ATC handed over him to police on a ten-day remand. The suspect Umair Siddiqui has confessed to 68 incidents of crime, police said.
