Atif Aslam has since long enthralled audiences within South Asia with his magical voice and pop sound. The Pakistani singer, who became an overnight sensation with his debut album Jal Pari, will now make his acting debut in Bollywood.
After crooning various hit songs such as Tere Bin, Wo Lamhe, Aadat and Jeena Jeena for Bollywood films, Atif is set to grace the screens as an actor. This is not the first time that he will be acting in a film, though. Aslam has previously starred in the Lollywood film Bol which was directed by Shoaib Mansoor. He played an aspiring musician who fell in love with a girl belonging to a conservative Muslim family. The movie was released to critical praise and appreciation throughout India and Pakistan, inciting offers from directors for him to star in other movies.
“I have been getting offers since the past couple of years and you will probably see me in a film by the end of this year or beginning of next year,” Atif told PTI.
the singer said he is interested in a dark or a romantic role in a film, which is about love and music.
“I am excited about both (kind of roles),” he said without naming the producers who have offered him the roles.
Atif disclosed that the movie would come out by the end of the year, most probably.
