ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) has announced protests against Punjab Government over Model Town incident from 27th January, ARY News reported on Tuesday.

Awami Tehreek’s Khurram Nawaz Gandapur, in a statement, said that the party will continue its struggle to lead the corrupt rulers to their logical end.

PAT Chairman Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri will also address the anti-government protests, he said.

It should be noted that 14 people, including several PAT workers had lost their lives in clashes with Punjab Police in Lahore’s Model Town area on 17th June 2014.

Qadri repeatedly said that the government institutions have failed to provide justice to the families of the victims of the incident.

He termed Model Town incident “state terrorism” and vowed that he will knock all doors to find justice for the victims.

The PAT chairman had also vowed to raise the issue of Model Town incident with European Union (EU) and International Human Rights Commission.
