Ayaz Sadiq, former speaker and the PML-N candidate for the same office of the National Assembly, discussed political matters with the prime minister.
Sadiq and three other newly-elected members of National Assembly sworn in on Friday.
Ayaz Sadiq was the speaker of the lower house when a decision of an election tribunal cancelled his election and ordered by-election in Lahore’s National Assembly constituency NA-122.
Sadiq returned elected from the constituency after close contest with Aleem Khan, the candidate of Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf (PTI).
The election for the National Assembly Speaker will be held on November 9 (Monday).
Leader of Opposition Syed Khursheed Ahmed Shah had earlier said that the PPP will neither field a candidate nor support an opponent fielded by the PTI if PML-N nominates Sardar Ayaz Sadiq as its candidate.
PTI has nominated Shafqat Mehmood to contest the election of the Speaker against Ayaz Sadiq.
