ISLAMABAD: Supermodel Ayyan Ali on Tuesday morning filed a contempt of court petition against secretary of interior in the Supreme Court of Pakistan (SC), ARY News reported.
Ayyan Ali, in the petition, has stated that her name was not removed from the Exit Control List (ECL) despite the orders from the apex court.
She also mentioned that the ministry is committing contempt of court.
The model pleaded to the apex court to remove her name from the ECL and take action against Secretary Interior and other officials on flouting the court orders.
It should be noted that the apex court had ordered removal of Ayyan Ali’s name from the list on 30th January, 2017.
Sindh High Court (SHC) judge Justice Naimatullah Phulpoto had given a verdict for removing Ayyan’s name from the ECL on 19th January, 2017.
Ayyan Ali was arrested on March 14, 2015 on charges of money laundering after customs officials had recovered over 500,000 US dollars from her luggage at Islamabad airport before she could reportedly board a flight to Dubai.
Her named has been included and excluded several times from the ECL since her arrest.
