Baahubali continues its sensational run at the Indian cinema and has become the first ever non-Hindi movie to enter the Rs 500 crore club, as far as worldwide collections are concerned. A mythological drama about two brothers at war for a kingdom, the film stars Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty and Tamannaah Bhatia in the lead roles.

Bahaubali‘s box office collections within India have amounted to more than a net figure of Rs 345 crores, beating out Pk‘s record of 339 crores. However, Aamir Khan’s Pk has been beaten only as far as the domestic box office collections pertaining to India are concerned. As far as worldwide collections are concerned, Aamir Khan’s Pk still holds the record for the highest collections by an Indian movie, grossing well over Rs 700 crore. Worldwide, Baahubali has grossed more than Rs 500 crore at the box office.

Even Shah Rukh Khan was inspired so much from the movie that he took to Twitter and tweeted a message of thanks for the makers of Baahubali for inspiring him.

The S. S. Rajamouli directed film has amazed film industry critics and movie buffs alike, since it faced stiff competition in the form of Salman Khan’s Bajrangi Bhaijaan.  Baahubali has managed to hang on to more than 2,000 screens around the world in its fourth week. It has earned praise for its amazing special effects and its massive scale.
