Bacha Khan University attack: Probe team recommends inquiry against VC, security incharge

CHARSADDA: The investigation team probing the attack on Charsadda’s Bacha Khan University has recommended the government to launch inquiry against the varsity’s Vice Chancellor and Security Incharge, ARY News reported.

The probe team in its report pointed out serious flaws in the security arrangements of the educational facilitity.

CCTV cameras were not working whereas no such proper arrangements were made for the monitoring of the varsity, according to the report.

It was also stated that the VC of the university did not call any meeting despite the instructions of the government whereas the Security Incharge Ashfaq Ahmad also did not fulfill his responsibility.

At least 20 people including students and a faculty were killed in the attack. Tehreek-e-Taliban (TTP) Tariq Geedar group had claimed responsibility of the attack on the institute on 20th January 2016.
